The Time: Now. And throughout the month of November.

The Place: The NaNoWriMo website (http://www.nanowrimo.org). And a PC or laptop, near you.

The Event: National Novel-Writing Month (NaNoWriMo).

The Objective: To complete a 50,000 word novel (first draft), in 30 days.

Which Means: 50,000 words; 30 days. Umm… 1,670 words per day (roughly). Of a novel. One that makes sense.

Which Means: Outlining. Character profiles. Back story. Plot-sustaining events. Character development. Ideas. Actually writing stuff down. Etc.

Unlikely? Perhaps.

Impossible? Only if you don’t try.

Worst Case Scenario: You don’t make 50,000 words. But, you DO give that novel you’ve always threatened to produce, a healthy kick in the right direction.

Which is how I’m looking at it.

Go ahead; get involved.

NaNoWriMo. Get involved.

I’m off, to stare bleakly at a blank page, for a while.

Sorry. I mean, “write another 1,670 words.” Yeah.

Or do some more outlining.

Or…

Whatever.

Peace.
